Effective herbs without the list of side effects! All can be drunk as tea, except maybe the garlic Smile

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) is one of the most common fever reducing herbs used. On its own, it can promote perspiration, reduce fever and eliminate toxins in the body. When combined with other herbs like elder flower, peppermint, cavenne and ginger, the yarrow can induce sweating and can reduce even very high fevers.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) or the ginger root is also a very useful herb that promotes perspiration reducing very high fevers. It can stimulate peripheral circulation and can be used together with other herbs to reduce fever and pain.

White Willow
(Salix alba) may be used as teas made from its bark to reduce high fever and pain. It has a natural compound known as salicin that is converted to aspirin which is known to treat fever in children and adults. *If you are sensitive to aspirin, do not take white willow.*

Lemon balm, along with being able to gently lower a fever, it is also antiviral, so it helps to fight cold and flu viruses. It's good for reducing stress, which can help encourage sleep. This one makes a nice tea, but be sure you buy high quality organic or grow your own. The flavor of cheap lemon balm tea from the store is terrible.

Catnip, or catmint, is another gentle fever reducer. It is also known for soothing upset tummies and encouraging restful sleep. It makes a delicious tea when mixed with lemon balm.

Garlic can also help reduce fever and it is fantastic for fighting any bacterial infections.

Feverfew is anti-inflammatory, vasodilatory, relaxant, antiseptic and digestive bitter. It has a long history of use in the treatment of fever, migraines, and arthritis.

Black Elder, the flowers are highly regarded as a natural treatment for colds and influenza. The tea or tincture is especially valuable as a treatment for spiking fever in children. Elder flowers are thought to aid the process of fever by relaxing capillaries, opening the pores of the skin and relieving congestion.

If you want to order any of these herbs online I'd recommend mountainroseherbs.com. They have pre-mixed herbal teas as well.
