Uriah Smith had false views about the truth. I am aware of at least one of those views in particular, but I have been told that Uriah Smith was not in the truth when he died. So when you read Uriah Smith's writings, such as Daniel and the Revelation (which I quoted in my "Seven Trumpets" series of posts), be advised that Uriah Smith's writings contain false conclusions. Because he was not in the truth when he died, we must read his writings carefully, and compare whatever he says with the Bible (which is the ultimate test of whether any doctrine is true) and the Spirit of Prophecy.

This is not to say that you should not read Daniel and Revelation, which I quoted in my "Seven Trumpets" series of posts. In reality, that book has blessed me and will bless others with the truths it does preach. But please keep a Bible handy when reading that book so that you can check to make sure that what that book says is in agreement with the Bible.

"The people in the world need to know that the signs of the times are fulfilling. Take to them the books that will enlighten them. Daniel and Revelation, Great Controversy, Patriarchs and Prophets, and Desire of Ages should now go to the world. The grand instruction contained in Daniel and Revelation has been eagerly perused by many in Australia [Ellen White lived for a while in Australia]. This book has been the means of bringing many precious souls to a knowledge of the truth. Everything that can be done should be done to circulate Thoughts on Daniel and the Revelation. I know of no other book that can take the place of this one. It is God's helping hand." {Ms76-1901.13}

"Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God." Isaiah 50:10.
